  • How do Teams register?
We provide you promotional material and employees self organise into teams of 4, 5 or 6 and decide who will be the Team Manager. The Team Manager then uses the log in provided on your promotional material and registers the team – invites are then sent to team members.
  • How long is the Challenge?
We can customise the length of the event for you and run it when it best suits your timing. To be effective, we find the minimum length is 4 weeks and maximum 8 weeks
  • Do entrants need a smart watch or phone to track steps?
No, entrants can enter time spend walking or running rather than actual steps counted on a device. However we know entrants like to be able to track their steps and as not everyone has a phone or a smartwatch that tracks their steps, with sufficient lead time we can source and supply Pedometers for your people that require them - please contact us to discuss.
  • What size are Teams?
Teams can be made up of 4, 5 or 6 employees (including the Team Manager who must take part in the event with the team)
  • What does it cost?
Entry is $24.50 plus GST per entrant. Included in the entry fee is the provision of a stainless steel double walled insulated vacuum flask with built-in temperature sensor - great for keeping those healthy smoothies cool or coffee hot on those winter hikes. These are excellent quality and retail at over $35. We will deliver to one location for you to distribute internally to your people for a small courier fee (we can arrange to split the delivery if you are happy to pay the additional P&P costs).
  • Are there any technology requirements?
No, we just need you to provide employees access to the Challenge site and whitelist our email address so they can receive their invitations and the weekly challenge update.
  • What data is collected and how secure is the data?
Data Collected We limit the data employees provide when registering to their name and email address (Team Managers may also enter their mobile number to receive text updates during the event). Companies may request we also collect their work location and/or business division for internal cost allocation. This information is only shared with their employer for invoicing purposes. During the event participants enter their daily steps and other activity and can enter data such as hours of sleep, nutrition to gain bonus points for healthy behavior. This information is only displayed to the participant (accessed via their login created upon registration and then encrypted). Participants in the event and their employer can only see other teams average daily points totals on the 'leaderboard'. After each event is concluded we delete all employee information from our database. Security and Protection of Data Our website's security and the protection of your data are top priorities for us. Here’s how we ensure both: Infrastructure Security AWS Hosting: Our website is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS), one of the most secure and robust cloud service platforms available. AWS provides numerous security measures including network firewalls, DDoS protection, and automatic data encryption. Data Centres: AWS data centres are highly secure, with 24/7 monitoring, multi-factor authentication for access, and physical security measures to prevent unauthorized entry. Data Security Encryption: All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS protocols. This ensures that any data participants enter (e.g., first name, last name, work email) is securely transmitted. Storage Encryption: Data stored on our servers is encrypted using industry-standard encryption algorithms, ensuring that it is protected both in transit and at rest. Application Security Access Control: Access to the administrative functions of our website is restricted to authorized personnel only. We use role-based access controls (RBAC) to ensure that only those who need access to sensitive data have it. Regular Updates: Our website and its dependencies are regularly updated to protect against known vulnerabilities. We stay informed about the latest security threats and apply patches promptly. Monitoring and Auditing Continuous Monitoring: We continuously monitor our website for any suspicious activity or potential security breaches. This includes automated scans and manual reviews of our security logs. Audits and Penetration Testing: We periodically conduct security audits and penetration testing to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities. This proactive approach helps us stay ahead of potential threats. Incident Response Response Plan: We have a robust incident response plan in place to address any security incidents swiftly and effectively. This plan includes procedures for identifying, containing, and mitigating the effects of any data breach. Communication: In the unlikely event of a data breach, we are committed to timely and transparent communication with all affected parties. By leveraging AWS's security features and adhering to best practices in web application security, we strive to ensure that your data is protected at all times.
  • What sort of uptake do you normally get?
It depends on the size of the company and the extend of promotion, often for smaller companies we get most staff involved, for much larger companies spread across multiple locations if may be 30 – 40% of all staff.
  • Can we have teams from locations outside NZ?
Yes, we have often had companies participate with staff from different countries.
  • How much activity do entrants have to do?
It’s the team average that moves the team and the team daily average target is 12,500 points, this is equivalent to just over 10,000 steps and also tracking some healthy behaviours like water intake. We find most teams achieve this through a combination or more active and less active members. For larger entrant numbers we can also split teams between an Open and Advanced Division, this gives the more active teams a more challenging target.
  • How often do entrants need to enter data?
We encourage entrants to enter data daily or at least every second day, it only takes a moment and keeps engagement high and progress steady.
